15 Minute Air Fryer Frozen Turkey Burgers

Jump to Recipe

The other night, I pulled out frozen, uncooked turkey burgers from the freezer and planned to have them for dinner. And then I realized my husband had gone to pick up our dog from the vet, and if I waited for him to get home and grill them, dinner wouldn’t be ready before my son’s bedtime. And then I thought, ‘wait a minute – why don’t I just air fry them?’ Because I’m pretty sure I can put just about anything in the air fryer.

Yes, you CAN air fry turkey burgers, and yes, it IS super simple!

Which Turkey Burgers Are the Best?

Sometimes I make my turkey burgers from scratch and freeze them – I need to share that recipe soon!

But, more often I just buy a big box of them from Meijer or Costco. The Jennie-O turkey burgers are probably the ones I buy the most. The ones I used the other night were the Columbus Seasoned Turkey Burgers from Costco and they were really good!

Air Fryer Turkey Burgers

Place the frozen turkey burgers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. I put in 3 large burgers, and two of them overlapped juuuust slightly. But when I flipped them after a few minutes of cooking, they had shrunk and they all fit in there just fine.

Typically, frozen pre-formed turkey burgers are all about an inch thick, so if you make homemade ones, try to keep them about an inch thick for cooking purposes.

Set the air fryer to 370 – preheat if yours requires it – and set the timer for 15 minutes. Flip your burgers halfway through, about 7 or 8 minutes.

Ways to Serve Air Fryer Turkey Burgers

Air fry your turkey burgers and then serve them with a variety of toppings!

Truthfully, I get my best ideas for ways to top my burgers by looking at restaurants, like Red Robin. Some favorites:

  • Use common burger toppings, like lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup and mustard.
  • Stir together equal parts bbq sauce and sour cream and spread over buns.
  • Top turkey burger with mashed avocado and crumbled goat cheese. Add bacon for an extra kick!
  • Top with avocado and pepper jack cheese and drizzle warm queso over the burgers.
  • Serve them on top of a salad, like this one.
