Cook bacon using preferred method. Drain on paper towels, let cool and crumble into small pieces.
In large bowl, stir together sour cream and 3/4 c. ranch dressing. Add up to 1/4 c. more ranch to taste.
Stir in bacon crumbles and cheddar cheese. Reserve a few crumbles and a handful of cheese to top.
Spoon dip into serving dish. Sprinkle reserved bacon and cheddar cheese over top. Let sit 30 minutes before serving.
