Peanut Butter Spider Cookies

an easy, peanut butter spider cookie topped with Reese's - a simple Halloween treat, perfect for any party.

Servings: 24 servings
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter, softened
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 egg whites
  • 24 Reese's Miniatures, unwrapped
  • 1 bottle black cookie icing
  • sanding sugar
  • 48 candy eyeballs
  1. Preheat oven to 350.  Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer (or with a hand mixer), combine the butter and sugars. Add in the peanut butter and egg whites, and mix well.

  3. Add flour and baking powder in two parts, mixing in between.

  4. Roll dough into 24 1-inch balls. Roll balls in sanding sugar, and place on baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately press one Reese's miniature into the center of each cookie.

  6. Place cookies in the freezer for 1-2 hours, in order to let Reese's firm back up.

  7. To decorate: Remove cookies from freezer and let sit 10 minutes. Use a dot of cookie icing on the back of each eyeball to attach. Use cookie icing bottle to draw eight legs on each spider.  Let dry for 1 hour before serving.
