A hot (or cold) cereal topped with sweet mixed berries and sliced bananas. Can be made ahead of time and heated up as needed!
In a medium saucepan, heat berries with 1/4 c. water over medium heat. As they begin to heat up, use a potato masher or fork to mash them to desired consistency. I don't sweeten them, but you can add a little honey or sugar if you prefer.
Heat berries until thick and juicy, about 7-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in large glass bowl, mix cereal, water and milk. Heat in microwave for 1 1/2 minutes; stir. Continue to heat in 30-45 second increments, stirring in between until cereal reaches desired consistency.
Stir honey and cinnamon into hot cereal.
If serving immediately, divide cereal evenly among 4 bowls. Top with a spoonful of berry mixture and 1/2 of a sliced banana.
If serving later, let cereal cool before placing in a container to store in the refrigerator. Store berries in refrigerator. When ready to eat, add a little milk before you heat it up to make sure it retains its creaminess. Top with berries and bananas.
