Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Chicken

We’re painting and laying hardwood floors in our new house (I can’t wait to show some before and after pictures!), so we have family over all the time right now. I’m not very handy, so I’m pretty useless when it comes to helping with the floors. So my job is to keep people happy (read: fed). I’m pulling out all my easy, ready-whenever recipes to keep some variety going.

One of my favorite quick-and-easy meals when we’re having friends or family over is slow cooker bbq pulled chicken. It’s so easy, but adding just a few ingredients to bottled bbq sauce takes this chicken to over-the-top-amazing!

The bbq sauce can also be used as an amazing marinade for grilled chicken and pork chops, too!

A teacher-friend gave me this recipe, and everyone I have ever made it for absolutely raves about it. At your next family get-together, whip up this pulled chicken and you won’t have to worry about leftovers!

Our favorite ways to eat it are either on a bun or over mashed potatoes (try it!).

Yum! Normally I do this with just chicken and barbecue sauce, but I bet the addition of that brown sugar really takes it to the next level 🙂 – Corey

That’s how I used to do it too, but the brown sugar and Italian dressing just make it over-the-top amazing. Like, eat by the spoonful amazing (not that I would ever do that…haha.)

Yum, this looks so good! I made pulled pork for the first time last month, so now it’s time to move to pulled chicken. I love that it makes so much, which gives so many options of recipes to make

    1. Lisa

The amount that it makes is one of my favorite things, because we use it in so many ways – on buns, over rice, over mashed potatoes, on pizza, on nachos, on tortillas for bbq burritos, etc!

Looks great! I always have the problem of my chicken drying out a bit in the slow cooker? Maybe just leaving it in too long?

    1. Lisa

I’ve never had a problem with it drying out in this recipe – doe your slow cooker kick over to warm when it’s done? But the bbq sauce and the Italian dressing in this recipe really keep it moist!
