Yogurt parfaits are one of my favorites ways to level up breakfast time. They feel so special and they look so pretty, but honestly take very little time to put together. These Greek Yogurt Goji Berry Mason Jar Parfaits work as a breakfast or a healthy dessert!

And bonus: if you use a mason jar, you can make these ahead of time, screw on a lid, and store them in the refrigerator to have ready to go in the mornings! They’re super portable in mason jars as well.

You can make yogurt parfaits out of pretty much any ingredients that sounds good to you. I picked some great Wildly Organic favorites this time, and I also chose ingredients that packed a healthy punch as well.

Dried goji berries are a fantastic superfood. Goji berries contains tons of antioxidants and are known to stabilize blood sugar and help with sleep. Note: If you prefer your Goji berries softer, you can soak them in water for a few minutes prior to adding them to your parfait recipe. That will help them soften and plump up a bit.

I used Wildly Organic Mixed Nuts in these Goji Berry Mason Jar Parfaits. Wildly Organic Mixed Nuts are so much better than your typical store-bought nuts. They are all harvested from small organic farms in the United States (except the cashews, which come from a farm in Southeast Asia where local farmers can make a living wage and support their families). The nuts are unsalted, so they’re nothing but healthy!

For the nut butter, I used a natural peanut butter that I had on hand, but you could also use Wildly Organic Almond Pecan Butter (which is unsweetened) for an even healthier alternative.

Making the Greek Yogurt Goji Berry Mason Jar Parfaits

Place ¼ cup peanut butter in a small, microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 20-30 seconds, or until smooth and pourable.

In a mason jar, cup, or deep bowl, layer ¼ cup of Greek yogurt. Top with ¼ cup of blackberries, a drizzle of peanut butter, and 2 tablespoons of mixed nuts.

Layer the remaining Greek yogurt, ¼ cup of strawberries, remaining mixed nuts and the remaining peanut butter.

If desired, add a spritz of whipped cream to the top of the yogurt parfait before sprinkling a tablespoon of dried Goji berries over the top. Or simply sprinkle the Goji berries and enjoy!

I’ve included the layering pattern I used to put my Greek yogurt parfaits together, but you can layer them however you’d like. And feel free to add any ingredients that just sound delicious to you – how about a drizzle of honey over the top?? The sky’s the limit here!

Can I make these Greek Yogurt Mason Jar Parfaits Gluten-Free?

Yes!

Make sure any Greek yogurt you choose says gluten-free on the label. Plain Greek yogurt is naturally gluten free, but when you’re buying a flavored yogurt, the additives in it may contain gluten. So read your labels carefully!

The same goes for whipped cream, if you decide to use it. Whipped cream, like most dairy products, is naturally gluten free, provided you select one that has no additives.

Ideas to Make Them More Dessert-Like

If you want healthy mason jar parfait dessert, this little puppies are it. But if you want them to be just a bit more decadent, here’s a couple of ideas:

  • Instead of fresh fruit, use a pie filling or homemade jam, like this strawberry kiwi jam.
  • OR put the fresh fruit in a bowl, sprinkle with a pinch of sugar, and let sit for a few minutes. The fruit will develop a sweet syrup that you can pour into the mason jar parfaits alongside the fruit.
  • Whipped cream always helps!
