So, first, I create a Mocha Whipped (Dalgona) Coffee and it was gooood.
But then I noticed the chai concentrate in the refrigerator and knew I could improve on the drink even more.

What is ‘Dirty Chai?’
Dirty chai is just a name for mixing coffee and chai tea together for an extra caffeinated drink.
Quality Matters
When we first made this, we grabbed whatever instant coffee – freeze dried coffee granules – we could add to our Walmart pick up order. But it turns out that, just like regular coffee, cheap instant coffee is disgusting.
So make sure you choose a good quality instant coffee for making your Dirty Chai Mocha Whipped Coffee.
Ingredients for Dirty Chai Mocha Whipped Coffee
Typical whipped coffee takes only 3 ingredients: hot water, instant coffee and sugar.
To make Dirty Chai Mocha Whipped Coffee, I replaced the water with chai tea liquid concentrate and part of the coffee with hot cocoa powder. Four ingredients are all you need for this delicious drink!
You’ll probably also want to have some milk and chai concentrate on hand for serving the drink.
Making the Dirty Chai Mocha Whipped Coffee
Heat 3 tablespoons of chai concentrate in the microwave for 45 seconds, or until practically boiling.
In a mixing bowl, pour the liquid chai concentrate, 2 tablespoons of instant coffee granules, 1 tablespoon of hot chocolate powder and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
Whip the mixture on high until it thickens and whips to the texture you desire. Because of the hot cocoa powder, it requires whipping more air into it, and it will not get quite as light and foamy as the original whipped coffee.
Note: This recipe does not whip easily by hand. I recommend using a stand mixer or a hand mixer for this drink to help it whip up nicely.
Serving the Whipped Coffee
Fill a glass about 1/3 of the way with ice and chai concentrate. Fill another third of the way with milk of choice. Spoon whipped coffee over the top.
Take photos, share them on Instagram, and start drinking!
If it is strong to you, I recommend stirring the whipped coffee into the milk before drinking.
