Is it snowy where you live? For us, here in Illinois, we have had a LOT of snow this year. But I’ve been seeing all of these crazy snowstorms happening in places that never get snow, like Texas. It’s crazy!

In fact, we just got 9 inches of snow in the last 24 hours and we have some gloriously huge drifts. If only the windchills weren’t negative, we’d be out playing. Instead, we’re staying inside, playing with our rice sensory bin and making this simple and easy, 3 ingredient ice cream made from snow!

If you live in a place that is covered in snow, you’d better give the Best Easy Snow Ice Cream a try!

Ingredients for Easy Snow Ice Cream

Like I said above, you only need three ingredients to make snow ice cream: snow, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and pure vanilla extract.

I’ve always got the latter two ingredients on hand, so all I have to wait for is the snow.

*You can substitute 1 cup of milk + 1 cup of sugar for the sweetened condensed milk. This cuts back on the sweetness too, so if you like yours less sweet, give it a try with milk and sugar!

How to Make Easy Snow Ice Cream

Have your sweetened condensed milk open and ready to go. And if you’re going to use any toppings (anything you’d normally put on ice cream will be good here!), have those ready to go too.

Then send your kids out to get about 8 cups of fluffy, fresh white snow. Put the snow in a large mixing bowl.

add sweetened condensed milk to snow

Pour the can of sweetened condensed milk over the top and sprinkle a teaspoon of vanilla extract. Then stir to combine the ice cream and condensed milk completely together. You may need to add more fresh snow.

Eat this delicious dessert as soon as you make it. Otherwise, pop it in the freezer. We found that ours quickly became a milkshake texture instead of ice cream, but refreezing definitely helped.

Keep a couple extra cups of snow on hand. If it doesn’t seem smooth when you stir in the 8 cups, add another cup or two of snow.

Recommended Toppings: whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate/strawberry syrup – basically anything you’d put on regular ice cream!
