And now let’s talk more about this book and this diet/lifestyle. This is a 3 stage plan, with the first one being an acceleration phase to the third one being a lifestyle / maintenance phase so you can live your life and still enjoy the food you eat.

So – to recap: the major idea of this plan is that, if you’re eating the right things, it doesn’t matter what time of day you eat them. The author lays out the daily meal plan for you, which makes it easy to plug in the meals you plan to eat. That makes tracking easier, and it makes me more conscious of what I’m eating.
Plus he shares a ton of really great recipes in his book. So you don’t have to plan each food group; you can just choose a recipe from the breakfast, lunch or dinner recipes. One of my favorites is the ground turkey spaghetti sauce over spaghetti squash. I want to try the Pomegranate Glazed Pork Chops next! Are you hungry yet??
He also has a sheet pan fish recipe, but I created my own Lemon Garlic Sheet Pan Fish and Veggies recipe that my toddler and husband are both obsessed with!
Like I said in my first post, my main goal is to be comfortable in a certain pair of skinny jeans again. I’m not going to obsess about weight, and I’m not going to take measurements and all of that.
My secondary goal is to pay attention to what I’m eating. I think that, with all the busyness of being a mom, I just snack on little bits here and there without thinking about what I’m eating. I’m sure I’m not overeating, but I know I’m not eating the right thing. I’m using Always Eat After 7 PM to reset my eating habits and feel better about what I’m eating.

What inspired you to write the book?
After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.
What was the most surprising discovery when you were researching scientific data for the diet?
That almost everything my college education and certifications taught me was NOT grounded in published scientific research.
How difficult is the Always Eat After 7 PM plan to follow?
It’s not. And that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm works because it caters to our bodies natural instincts.
It’s only a week in, and I’ll admit – I haven’t followed 100%. I’m just not ready to give up my cold brew Starbucks with all this ‘stuck at home with a toddler for quarantine’ thing. But healthier dinners – which translates into healthier leftovers for lunch – have made me feel so much better. I’m finding myself with more energy already.
