Always Eat After 7 PM Book Challenge

Are you a late night eater? Are you someone who always wants to snack at night but then you feel guilty because everything says you shouldn’t eat late at night?

This post is sponsored by Joel Marion, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Truthfully, I’m not a huge nighttime eater. But we don’t eat dinner until 6 or after, and sometimes I like to eat something after that. But I will admit that I always feel guilty about it, and in the morning, I convince myself that I feel heavier and more bloated because I ate at night.

But, Joel Marion says in his new book: “Research shows that the average person’s metabolic rate is no different during sleep than during the day. In short, your metabolism doesn’t slow down at night. Nor does your body store fat at the end of the day. Whether it’s 8 am or 8 pm, you use food for energy the same way.” For real?? That’s a complete 180 from what I’ve always been told!

That’s why I’m giving Joel Marion’s new book Always Eat After 7 PM a chance.

Why I’m Trying Always Eat After 7 PM as a Lifestyle Choice

The keywords here, for me at least, are lifestyle choice, as opposed to diet. I’m a toddler mom; I just don’t have time or mental energy for a quick diet that does’t transfer to real-life, long-term healthy lifestyle choices.

I think Always Eat After 7 PM sets up a solid foundation that transfers to long term change. At first, there is a quick-loss phase, but that transitions into a long term usage. I’m excited to give this a try!

I really like this book, because Marion isn’t advocating for giving up things completely; there are cheat days built in for you to enjoy. He guides you through making choices at restaurants that fit more closely with a healthy, sustainable-in-the-long-term lifestyle change.

I’m going to give this plan a try over the next 4 weeks, and I’d love for you to follow along or join in with me!

My goal: to fit comfortable into a certain pair of skinny jeans that I own. I’m choosing not to focus on pounds or inches. I just know that I have some clothes that I’d like to fit more comfortably in, so that’s where I’m basing my goal.

If you want a little more inspiration to get you going, check out this video from author Joel Marion about why he wrote the book:

And then get your grocery list ready and let’s get started together! Or just keep checking up on me here and on Twitter to make sure I’m sticking to my plan!
